According to J.D. Power the average phone bill in 2025 is $141/month costing a whopping $1692/year.

You can use FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Broadband Map to look at your area and determine which service provider is your best option.

If your phone is paid off, I recommend switching to a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator). MVNOs typically don’t own cell towers or network infrastructure but contract with the “Big 3”: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile. You will often pay a fraction of the cost for slightly reduced priority. I have used an MVNO for years and only experienced slight speed reductions when in large cities.

US Mobile is an MVNO that contracts with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile and lets you switch between all three so you have the best coverage possible at a fraction of the price.
